Growing up my mother made me a believer in fragrances. The smell of Chanel will always be the scent of my childhood.
However, now that I have discovered the wonderful nose of Francis Kurkdjian he has ultimately change the way I look and smell fragrances now.
For me buying a fragrance is something I would do by smell, and the way it makes me feel no matter the brand. However come to find out the perfumer behind a lot of the fragrances that I own they were created by Francis Kurkdjian.
My first purchase from Maison Francis Kurkdjian was Grand Soir this fragrance deserves a full review all by her lonesome. Now my second purchase was the one and only Baccarat Rouge 540. I also purchased the body oil as well.
To me this fragrance smells like spicy warm sugar. I find it it also has this ghostly trail thing going on. You know in the cartoons when the aroma would have a ghostly trail with a finger, that’s how I feel this fragrance plays with your nose.
Now there are times when I can barely smell it on myself, however others can smell it on me as I walk pass, or if I’m in the room. I do receive a ton of compliments whenever I wear Baccarat Rouge 540. After playing around with this lovely fragrance, I tend to layer it, like I do with other wonderful scents. Now trust me it’s wonderful by itself. However, I have to be a little extra so I like to layer it with the Baccarat Rouge 540 body oil, or YSL Mon Paris Intensement EDP, or Juliette Has A Gun Lady Vengeance. ( By the way another Francis Kurkdjian’s creations ).
For my wear test, I feel that I got a good 10 hours with this scent. Trust me after the dry down and a few hours later, I still got a few head turns with this fragrance as well. All I had to do is sit and let the fragrance do the talking. So hands down I got what I paid for out of this one. For me I also feel that this is a year round fragrance, not too overwhelming, classy, sophisticated, you know on my grown up stuff.

I’m not even going to get all technical on each note, all I know is it smells so Gorgeous.
